Transcend into a deeper state of consciousness with TheStral’s debut single, ‘Orisha’.
TheStral craft immersive, multi-dimensional soundscapes that blend ancient, shamanic vocals, instrumentals & sounds with modern cinematic textures & melodic arrangements. If ever there was a track suitable to flow along to or facilitate immersive breathwork or sound meditation experiences, it would be this one.
‘Orisha’ opens with ominous synth layers and tribal beats that count down into a thumping, ecstatic section. Evocative, folksy violin string pair brilliantly with shamanic vocalisations and shimmering synths. The didgeridoo enters, transporting you to an astral, dreamlike state.
No vocals here, but the storytelling through their sound is pretty compelling and raises the heartbeats a few notches, akin to being on a timeless journey.
‘Orisha’ is a track that smartly keeps you engaged, listening closely as it makes superb use of transitions, moving with ease, and inducing a euphoric, exhilarating trance. We particularly enjoyed the layered use of the didgeridoo, an instrument that’s long since been believed to be a medium of accessing altered states, dreamtime they call it!
At just over 3 mins, the track serves as an exciting glimpse into this group’s explorations and artistic vision. TheStral are clearly an avant-garde musical force, channeling tribal instruments to induce deep and exploratory introspective states and bring out organic, natural cathartic release.
The accompanying music video for ‘Orisha’ is a striking work of art too, with compelling visuals and storytelling of the performer breaking through with determination and grace, ascending into his highest potential and looking damn majestic while doing so!
In a time where the importance of sound, frequency and vibration is only increasing, groups like TheStral are groups to watch out for their fearless sonic explorations. We’re thrilled with what we’ve experienced with their debut track ‘Orisha’ and look forward to hearing more from them!
