YME aka Ymkje de Bijl is an independent artist from the Netherlands. Her music has a remarkable modern touch, frothing as it does with electronica and alternative elements. It is a sphere of its own, forming and forging its own reality and structural stream. Her latest release is a dark pop track called ‘Love Yourself’, in which she explores the theme both in its empowering expanse and lonely spaces. This unique interpretation of the theme is quite interesting.

She sets the scene with dark and nocturnal synths. It is bass radiant and is speckled with experimental notions of electronica. The narrative leads with fraternizing with toxic people to fit in. However forged as it is from the retrospective, the artist relates the theme like a piece of wisdom – “Love yourself, no one’s gonna do it for you”. Even though it is a commonplace phrase, the velvet licks of melody and the mysterious conviction in her vocals transform it, casting it in a new profundity. And the connection that she creates with the listener is quite spectacular. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
