ALVIRA brings a whole new perspective to folk. She liberates it from its traditional settings and casts them in progressive and more contemporary spheres that radiate creativity, sonic contemplation, and craft. Incorporating accents of cinematic, choral, and pop, she thrives in her brand of alternative folk that is airy, free, and dynamic. ALVIRA debuted with EP, ‘Ariel Suite’, a movement in three parts that explores outworldly/ enigmatic concepts. There’s lot of contemplative quotients that are readily installed into the composition, which flows out as seamlessly as a stream of water.
Each Movement is distinct and unique to its theme, mood, aura, and energy. ‘Movement I – Full Fathom Five’ is a synthwave infused dance-driven track. The stillness comes in through the level vocal planes. ‘Movement II – Hell is Empty’ is a more cryptic and darker space. The ominous ambience is full of choral echoes, haunting vocals, and ethereal slivers of harmony. It progresses into an all consuming shower of sound that transports you. ‘Movement III – Liberty’ is an ever-flowing composition. It is free, uplifting, luminous, and driving. Even this soundscape is molded with chorals, an energetic rhythm motif and open vocal planes. A nebulous dimension exists between these layers, catching strays and swinging them into a liberating sequence. Listen Now!
