Booster Fawn is the alt folk and indie banner of singer-songwriter, Joshua Marc Seguin. The French artist devolves into his songs, the essence and journeys of his own life. His music is visceral and brimming with vitality. There’s almost nothing separating the listener from the scenes of his mind and consciousness. Booster Fawn has just released his three track EP, ‘Pour Maman’. All the tracks are taken from his album, ‘Dreams Made of Snowflakes’ and are re-recorded in French. Its surreal acoustic pulse and hypnotic ethos is stark and pleasing like watching a dreary white sky. His style quotients and cerebral presentations in this EP will definitely remind you of artists like The Beatles, Nick Drake, and Leonard Cohen. Listen Now!
‘À quoi ça sert’ or ‘What’s the point’ is a long winded chronicle that forms as a lingual image of its English counterpart. Its resonant string work and lo-fi soundscapes are easy to disappear into. ‘Y’en aura pas d’facile’ is a lightened garage rock track. Compared to the original version, its energy is toned down and its essence heightened by the intimate spheres of folk rock. And finally, ‘À l’ingérieur de toi, à l’ingérieur de moi’ is a roaming psychedelic performance. Wiry guitar melodies, gentle beat planes, and a raw baritone line create a DIY soundscape. It is transparent in emotion and powerful in its vulnerability. Even if you are not a French speaking listener, the artist has left all the emotions in the soundscape that any human can pick up on and resonate with.
