Philadelphia native singer-songwriter, rapper, and R&B/soul artist, La’monte has just dropped his latest single, Welcome To The Heartbreak. Drenched in romantic gloom and mellow tones, the song harbors soft and intimate blues that magnify the thematic emotion. The artist is an avid experimentalist, liberating the soul spectrum with novel and creative interpretations and arrangements. In a way, it pays homage to the diverse styles of artists that influenced and impacted him as a child. Listeners of Tom Misch, Loyle Carner, and the like are sure to enjoy the neo-soul, flowering funk, and soft rapping of this track.

The track opens with whimsical synth-beat motifs, complemented by hi-hats, fuzzy synth keys, and oozing bass lines. This ensemble forms an intuitive sonic web that undulates alongside La’Monte’s warm baritones. Velvet vocals lead us to a rap cloud, before passing through a soft funk frame. The track is amorphous for the most part; its sonic form evolving to grasp the overarching mood and dilate its intricate genre diversions.

La’Monte debuted his solo work last year (2022) with his single, “Let’s Find Time To Go”. He has since released five singles and an EP including favorites like “All I Need Is Her”, “She’s Around”, among others. He is also the frontman of the band, @A Couple Mondays that was founded with an aim to experiment with genre samples.

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
