B1GHEADCHRIS is also known as Chris Mickey is a vocalist from Greenville, Michigan. He identifies as a small-town kid with big dreams and is determined to chase them in California regardless of circumstance. He has been releasing music since 2022 and has built up an extensive discography. The track “Airbnb”, starts his latest EP “Adventures of Yung Mick” off on the right note!

The keys that start the track off are used to create a pendulum-like effect; It is at once urgent and threatening while creating a trippy, hallucinogenic ambience. The echo effect used on the vocals by B1GHEADCHRIS create a sense of subduedness waiting to burst at the seams. His vocal inflections have elements of spoken word and rap. The manner in which he switches up flow and cadence is enjoyable and keeps the listener entertained. The production feels intimate and the instrumentation does a great job of supporting the vocals, taking a step back when necessary.

Being the first track of the EP “Adventures of Yung Mick”, the title of the track “Airbnb” brings with is a sense of curiosity. It uses narrative forms to explain meeting someone new for the first time in a city and soon it becomes clear that the adventures being spoken about are ones to be had in bed! The second verse takes forward these very promiscuous connotations and explores themes like desire, restraint and the unwillingness to show all of one’s cards for fear of being exposed.
