The lead vocals by Cara Cole are vibrant and twangy and the deep back-up vocals although subtle adds gravitas to the sonic environment.
The bridge has whispery vocal production along with interesting tonal instrumentation on the strings that provide respite from otherwise heavy musical arrangement. It serves as a great point of departure for the climatic and colourful final chorus.
The songwriting explores experience from a point of defeat. It narrates the lows of life explicitly in the language of a battle using lines like “Broken bones”, “Salt of Tear” and “Tasting Blood”. The message however is a hopeful one. The motivating songwriting asks you to pick yourself up no matter what and start life afresh, giving the song the appropriate title “Reincarnation
