Beppe De Francesco is an Italian singer, actor, director and playwright. He has been a theatre artist since he was young and shares his love for music through his releases. Having released a track in 2017, we witnessed the artist’s return in 2021. “Almeno un’altra vita”, a track released during this phase speaks to the heartbreaking hope of lost possibilities.
The track starts off with very robotic, staccato percussion that reminds one of pop music from the 80s. It has the same energy levels as a Micheal Jackson track from the era and is the kind of upbeat that gets a listener to tune into the anthemic and March-like beats. The vocals by Beppe De Francesco are relatively sombre and mellow, standing in juxtaposition to the very colourful music production. The layering of the vocals is well done and adds to the overall echoed out ambience of the track. The synth and strings elementally break the very structured flow of the track to bring in more cheer and lightness.
The chorus reminds one of a journey as brighter elements are added in. Almeno un’altra vita translates to ‘At least another life’ in Italian which is on theme with the very hopeful sonic environment. I really enjoyed the computer-like alien elements sprinkled in during the second verse. The synths are the most prominent element on the track and the choice of tones is really interesting! The single has a rather climatic ending where we witness all of the track’s energy coming together to bid us farewell.
