Zoolook is a multi-disciplinary artist with a creative orientation towards soul, jazz, funk, blues, hip-hop and reggae. Blending it with moments of lofi electro, they cast an ambience that you can seamlessly drift through. It’s like listening to a Carribeanized FKJ, soundscapes filled with free-flowing ideas and creative inspirations. Their latest release is ‘STONEFRENGE : Black in Space’ album, a spatial nine-track odyssey. Each track contextualizes and perpetuates frames and scenes from a long journey. You’ll see a lot of mystique, romanticism, contemporary reggae craft, and a whole lot of mellow.
Taken from this album is ‘Soul Rebel’, the breakout track that drifts with a nice reggae beat. Accentuated by trance vocal echoes, shimmering synths, jazz textures, and funk quotients, it casts a cosmic aura. The artist works at the psychedelic ethos of reggae soul and fleshes it out with progressing textures and tonalities. If you think about it, it’s quite elegant. Because it is not coming to associate reggae with space scenes. But Zoolook definitely makes it work. Listen Now!
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
