Prepare to be blown away by 3 Year Project’s rich, sonically stirring, evocative Britpop opus, ‘Waiting’!
As this group’s name adventurously declares its objective, that is, to play 100 gigs culminating in one grand finale on the iconic Glastonbury pyramid stage in 2027. Let’s gooo!!
Their music draws inspiration from Britpop legends such as Oasis, Blur, and Pulp, delivering high emotion. Their captivating soundtracks capture the ebbs and flows of everyday life with raw emotion and honesty.
‘Waiting’ bursts out of the gates with infectious energy. Strong, driving rhythms, crashing drums and uplifting guitar harmonies flow into the ecstatic, love-laden opening verse. The vocals, oozing with charm and longing, convey a deep sense of longing. Building upon familiar pop-rock song structures, the verses unfold with strong intent, each refrain brimming with personality.
The lyrics to ‘Waiting’ were written long ago during a trans-American journey (captured in this cool music video) taken by band founder Sam Holden and his wife. Exploring themes of love, longing, and living free-spirited, this track is a stirring journey all throughout.
What stands out to us is just how much emotional depth and character this track has. It is perfectly balanced, all thorough, and there’s so much to keep the listener engaged without overwhelming. It’s the kind of anthemic pop-rock track that you could listen to several times over.
We’re firmly rooting for the 3 Year Project. We learned that they’ve dedicated the profits from their launch event to benefit Headspace, a local children’s mental health charity. The band has begun their journey on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, before performing nationally, then globally. And lastly, they will finish their tour on the Glastonbury main stage! You can contribute to their noble cause by just seeing them play live! Check out their website or socials for more details.
