Dallas-based punk rockers ‘A Dangerous Affair’ are back in the scene with a wicked punk/pop rock opus titled ‘The Secrets We Keep’.

The sound is captivating and refreshingly young and original. Think Hoobastank meets Green Day. There’s that raw, unfiltered energy delivered with honest passionate and playful instrumentation. Rocketing off the mark with a wicked drum beat, the track launches into action with eagerness. Careening, progressive guitar melodies, strong punk rock rhythm nd basslines and those crashing drums set the stage for punk vocals to shine.

The track delves into themes of love, struggle, seperation and the double lives we lead to keep it going. Chorus lines like – “I get back up before I even hit the ground…” convey a strong sense of resillence and determination to see oneself through the tough times, balancing the secrets we keep and doing whatever it takes to get where we want to go. Around the 2 min mark, theres a intrriguing build up that escalates in into an all out brawl and growl from the vocalist. Takes you by surpise at the seamless way that they push up the intensity to 11. Very Three Days Grace feel to that.

Theres a reckless abandon, a defiance and rebilliousness about ‘A Dangerous Affair – The Secrets We Keep’. It screams freshness and a collegial atmosphere. I can imagine this playing at college music festivals or anywhere college kids gather to rock out. The band creates an epic balance between delicacy and softness with intensity and restlessness.
