Aggressive Soccer Moms (ASM) is a Lo-Fi Post Punk duo from Sweden. Formed in 2017, the duo comprises Anders Bergström and Thomas Wahlström. With roots in the early punk movement of the late seventies, the duo manifests the genre’s past glory by blending them with modern styles. That’s How I Feel is the latest release of Aggressive Soccer Moms. Its subversive textures and patterns craft a dark canvas that spells out great despair and despondence.

The track is compositionally simple with clean melody lines that flow through the smoky vocals. The gloomy canvas moves like a shadow as the abstractness of the base synths bring formlessness to it. The effervescent vocals dismally bleed into the formless mass. Its doldrum comes together with accents of horror and irrevocable sorrow that sinks into us.

We also see mournful saxophone melodies adorning the canvas. It is truly spectacular to see how the artists are able to convolute straight lines of melody to create a deep cavity of emotion. The vocals, especially, though apparently simple carry the gigantic tragedy and melodrama of ghosts as they swell out of the canvas.

The duo is known for their spur-of-the-moment creations. Swelling out of the creative psyche, their compositions are raw and honest and strike at the essence. ASM’s debut single was released in the summer of 2018. Since then, the duo has been consistently delivering riveting music that makes for beautiful emotive, and cathartic releases.
