Andy Plews is a singer-songwriter and a country rock artist who sings from the soul. His stories are so worldly and human, dilating into moments of folk, Americana, and sweet blues. Based in Brooklyn, he recounts his childhood in the North of England and explores his Scottish roots. He chronicles his journey to New York City, both stylistically and lyrically. Each track is an ode to a life lived, touching on emotions like love, heartache, regret, pain, and acceptance of time past. His debut release, ‘The Macclesfield Years’ album is a collection that evolves with contemplation, philosophy, lifelike frames, and enlivened imagery.

Taken from the album, ‘10 Advil Day’ is a heartache track, forming in the aftermath of being left by a lover. To numb the pain, the protagonist descends into a drunken stupor and casts a misty melancholy that weaves in memories with a drugged up haze. It is honest, vulnerable and so personal. He gracefully reveals moments that unravel in solitude, connecting it with spheres of loneliness, guilt and regret. The trajectory of the instrumentals are intricate and nuanced, detailing the complexity of the emotions in the vocals. And collectively, they set the scene. And gazing, as an outsider, at the life she is now making, the one she deserves with love and laughter, the protagonist is resigned to his own life. Listen Now!
