Make way for ‘Gloria Pegasus’ a fascinating, experimental folk choral & instrumental soundscape from Angelos Tsoutsis!
This is a track that seems to come from another time, a era long forgotten but still enduring, and How! A call to worship, to prayer for a being so majestic, ‘Gloria Pegasus’. As you might know, Pegasus is an ancient mythical creature, a magnificent white winged horse, that features prominently in Greek myth scriptures.
The sight of the winged beast is considered significant as a sign of the soul’s eternal journey. And that seems to be the underlying essence of this track. The artist, Angelos Tsoutsis/Αγγελος Τσουτσης, who hails from Florina, Greece, was struck by inspiration during his time in Berlin, where he came face to face with grand marble statues of winged horses.
‘Gloria Pegasus’ is a considerably lengthy soundscape at just over 8 mins. It begins grandly with the artist’s baritone voices, laden with emotion and depth. The track builds cinematically and intentionally. A soft piano melody opens the heavenly gates where we’re met with angelic voices, a trascendent moment indeed.
From there, the track blooms beautifully, layers of souldful instrumental interplay stir something divine within you. It isin’t too often that a track can have this kind of magnetic effect with just two words. But yet, you can’t help but be sincerely captivated and in awe of ‘Gloria Pegasus’.
Full credit to Angelos Tsoutsis for sculpting this soundscape with such intricate and also immese artistic flow. You can sense that he’s really baring it all here, expressing his innermost thoughts and emotions in this stirring ode to something greater than us all.
Just before the 6 min mark, the track flows into a sublime string section along with a myriad of folk instrumentation, all delightfully and beautifully arranged.
Concluding in a similar fashion as we began with a sombre sense of worship and devotion, we lead back into layered baritone vocals, resonating deep and true.
‘Gloria Pegasus’ is a remarkable, storied soundscape that pulls us out of the dreariness of human exisistence and connects you with something infinitely more divine!
