Standout Track Reviews from ‘BlasterRaz – IONIC’:

Serious Ft. Tim Condor & Eric Castiglia

A thrilling opening track setting the tone for the album. The track opens with retro-powered synths and rumbling, throbbing basslines, building fantastic anticipation alongside a soft, soulful keyboard melody. It explodes into life with the opening lines, ‘I don’t want to live my life seriously, I want to, live in peace’, armed with thunderous riffs and crashing beats.

It gives us a great introduction to this artist’s mindspace. The use of explosive rap sections, along with electrifying metal instrumentation, makes this feel like a mashup between The Prodigy & Opeth. The track concludes with a delightful guitar solo, elevating the atmosphere to new heights.

The Logical Song Ft. Andreastales

– A compelling track with ample emotional depth, it expresses a deep sense of angst of growing pains and the sadness for the loss of innocence and wonder. It captures the anger and bitterness we feel once we really see the bad, evil, manipulative energies in this world. The track features aching vocals, gripping raps, emotional harmonies and explosive guitar riffs.

My Fault

This track embodies anger and rage in its fullest essence through a tense harmony structure. The lyrics point to an often-ignored aspect of the abuse that men face in our society. A telling news report segment is tactfully played underneath a riff section. It highlights the shocking statistics regarding a large number of domestic abuse victims being male and how the stigma of abuse against men makes it so difficult to men to come forward. A compelling, thought-provoking track indeed.

Monsters

Takes a deeply reflective route, with a slow-burning sound. Raz’s Jonathan Davis-esque vocal tension and build up here remind the listener of Korn’s iconic ‘Daddy’. The introduction of female vocals in the chorus gives a refreshing change of tone and pitch, contrasting the intensity of Raz’s delivery. A soulful guitar solo section add depth and personality to this track.

The Betrayed Ft. G-Mo Skee & Canibus

This features a wicked base melody that builds through compelling rhythms. Reminds the listener a lot of Linkin Park’s earlier, heavier tracks.

The Grey Ft. The Jokerr

The track tunes into a techno/heavy metal melody, building tension well, before launching into a searing rap. The chorus features soaring vocals, almost lost beneath the heavy instrumentation.

Loneliness Ft Colleen Melody

Reverting to the hard-hitting nu metal sound with great emotional depth. The track features fantastic vocals from Colleen, encapsulating the crushing yet freeing feeling of being all alone.

Insomnia

A fantastic reimagination of an iconic house EDM classic. Starting off with almost ambient, floaty notes, the track swerves back and forth. With relentless heavy metal melodic groove, gripping rap sections, and airy basslines. It connects into that iconic opening sequence from Faithless, blazing into metalcore instrumentation. This is one of the standout tracks of this album in how it captures that relentless paranoia of being an insomniac!

Bitch Im Home

A whimsical nu metal track, it’s a fine introduction to Raz himself. He channels thrash metal influences along with nu-metal witty lyricism (Think Eminem x Fred Durst) for an in-your-face performance piece.

Mass Effect

The closing track brings a familiar-sounding melody (Think DMX’s Party Up) to life in the most metal way ever! Paired with hypnotic metal instrumentation and Raz’s urgent rap flow, it’s quite irresistible. At over 6 minutes, it’s a journeying track, featuring a gripping solo right at the end.

‘BlasterRaz – IONIC’ is a future-ready, genre-fusing, immersive sonic journey. It conveys a range of emotions and themes well through a fantastic blend of nu-metal, rap, prog metal and melodic techno. This is an album that is sure to be relished by fans of rap & metal.

This album will be out for your streaming on all major platforms on 29th August.
