Call Connie is an indie rock band founded and fronted by Lauchlan Bennett. The group is made for storytelling with tales of love, heartache, joy, and nostalgia pouring out of it. And the way they tell stories is to create a simple vocal or lyrical line and then cast it in an immersive ambience that transports you far from your own reality. Their latest release is ‘Becky’s Friend’, a track that is dynamic and dazing all at the same time. Right off the bat, you’ll notice the 90s influence. You’ll catch passing mirages of The Smiths, Regina Spektor, Modest Mouse, and the like.

The band forges a progressive contrast between the instrumentals and the vocal line : the former being coarse, consistent, and fuzzy clarity and the latter being more expressive, intuitive, and free-flowing. When these two worlds collide, mellow at first and then deeper and more intrinsically, the listening experience is transformed. The drawn out melancholy of the vocals start forming waves around you. Then they cast the emotion and energy to the riffs, bass lines, beats and everything to create a soundscape that is divided in style but united in essence. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
