Caroline in the Garden is out with her latest single “Isolation Inside”, a haunting and elegant symphony. With heavenly pianos, sustained pads and a mystifying vocal line that glides throughout, “Isolation Inside” is a brilliantly orchestrated piece of music that envelops the soundscape. Singer-songwriter and producer Caroline Milby is the brainchild behind the vintage pop project named Caroline in the Garden. Milby produces melodramatic and big canvas music that takes the listener in for the experience and makes them take a seat to enjoy the same. Like attending the opera or watching theatre, her music provides a fully immersive experience as you journey through the music. Heavily influenced by Bowie, Bush, Byrne and a slew of 90s piano chicks, she got her start in a Philadelphia art-rock band named Weird Hot before relocating to ATL and embarking on her current solo project.
Milby weaves together a lush of instrumentation to convey her melody which speaks about a deeply melancholic essence. Describing the song, she commented that it is about slowly growing apart. The sense of sorrow is beautifully conveyed through the vocals that burn with passion and soar with hurt. One can hear the slight vocal backing that’s faded into the phenomenal instrumental backing giving emphasis on the lead vocals. The crafty arrangement and the spotless production gears up the music to sound eternal and Milby’s vocals add the final touch of royalty with her majestic voice.
