Brit Pop Rockers Chandra ignite our hearts with a stunning reimagining of Giacomo Puccini’s Nessun Dorma to coincide with the start of the FIFA World Cup 2026!
This stunning composition, performed usually at the start of major sporting events replete with soaring melodies and empowering crescendos, takes on a whole new form in Chandra’s re-imagination. After hearing it at the recent Winter Olympics 2026 closing ceremony, lead vocalist Chandra Nair knew instantly that his band’s version would happen.
He shares, ” I was a small boy when I first heard The Three Tenors perform Nessun Dorma but it clearly had a massive impact on me. When I heard it in the I immediately heard our band’s version fully formed in my head, like it had been crafted over decades, instilled with years of sporting heartache, agony, joy and hope. I truly believe that, at its best, sport is one of the few things in this world that has the capacity to unite entire nations and to overcome politics, adversity, conflict, and division.”
The track opens with remarkable grace and Chandra’s soul-stirring, operatic vocals. Combined with the classical instrumental arrangements, it immediately evokes a dreamy, cinematic hope. Then, the dramatic distortion guitar riffs hit, taking this rock opera to another level.

The accompanying music video breaks down the track act by act nicely along with marked shifts in intensity as we lead into the Act II and soar further higher in the final Act III, crescendoing in the euphoria of victory and stadium roars.
