Open the windows and let the sunshine in! Clay Goodman’s latest release, ‘Such Fun’ is an effervescent, grunge rock opus for those high energy mornings.

For just his third track release ever, Clay exibhits a light-hearted self-confidence and carefree abandon through ‘Such Fun’. It packs quite a punch with its shoegaze-infused, distorted guitar riffs and Clay’s hazy, nonchalant vocals singing about nothing much in particular!

Just a day in the life, waking up to another day, getting ready to get to work, but just being in this happy-go-lucky mindset where nothing can be a bother. It reminds the listener a lot of Nirvana’s early tracks and you get a Cobain-esque sense of artistic rebellion seeping through Clay’s sound.

Diving a little bit into the inspiration behind ‘Such Fun’, Clay says ‘It was the first song I ever wrote. I was young at the time and just writing every day. I wasn’t happy with a lot of my songs until this one. I’d say my relationship and friendship at the time had a lot to do with it. I was young and broke, working my first job ever at a clothing store.”

The track kicks into action with no time to waste. We’re hit with blaring, jagged riffs, thundering drum beats, and a tasty bassline, it makes for an engaging, energizing listening experience. The swerves from verse to chorus with the carefree abandon, the chorus is immersive and prompts a euphoric sing-along. Clay performs a blistering guitar solo halfway, showing his technical and artistic prowess. In fact, every element of this track was performed by Clay himself from the confines of his makeshift home studio.

Underneath the DIY sound & production, is a definite sincerity and attention to detail contrasted by a sheer fun, positive outlook to his musical process.

Make your day, give this a listen.
