Strap in and prepare for a soulful, evocative synth-pop-rock opus from Dez Rocket, ‘Akashic Walker’

The eclectic multi-instrumentalist and transmutationalist, Dez Rocket, has been making music as a solo artist since 2014. He believes that music is a conduit that connects us, not just in this world but beyond.

And that otherworldly, ethereal energy is what his latest release, ‘Akashic Walker’ strongly embodies. It’s a love song that transcends all conventional understandings of space and time.

The title is in reference of the artist’s vision of a bond so strong that it spans across lifetimes and dimensions. It was in the depths of meditation that he received a cosmic message telling him that, in a past life, he (was known as Senya in that life) shared a powerful bond with someone named Diama. That revelation and others compelled him to write the story Senya and Diama: A Cosmic Love Story. “Akashic Walker” is the soundtrack to that story.

The track opens with grungy, sombre riffs and Dez’s strained, passionate vocals, evoking melancholy-laced love. It expands into a spacious soundscape. Airy synths and subtle atmospherics, paired with the cinematic instrumentation, make you feel like you’re floating through space.
