Dream Bodies release celestial, immersive synthwave opus, ‘Circle of Light’.

LA-based multi-dimensional artist Steven Fleet is the mind behind Dream Bodies. He channels a sound that can be described as otherworldly with darkly ethereal, gothic, dream pop sensibilities. At over 6 minutes runtime, title track ‘Circle of Light’ is the hypnotic, mesmerizing, dance-friendly, shimmering centerpiece of Dream Bodies’s debut EP. For fans of The Cure and the nostalgia of 80s dream pop psychedelia, this is a gem of a listen that draws the listener into a cosmic dark soundscape.

Featuring glitchy beats, hypnotic progressions, atmospheric synths, guitar dripping with ever, and Steven’s deep baritone vocals, this feels like a one-way journey down the rabbit hole of reality, not knowing where you’d arrive on the other side.

Fleet’s vocals evoke a striking composure amongst the whirlpool of layered synths and echoing guitar lines, reminiscent of early goth and ‘80s dream-pop. The track explores vivid spiritual themes, portraying death and life as opposing guardians, with a sense of cosmic awakening and transcendence. It may be esoteric, but it resonates with an emotional truth that transcends belief. The artist shares that the meaning behind the track’s mystery lies in its seeking to explore that fleeting space between duality.

Dream Bodies – Circle of Light is an interesting listening experience, and the effects of this are felt resonating long after it ends. Add this to your playlists for late nights of perception-expanding, drifting between sleep and wakefulness. If ‘Circle of Light’ is any indication of Dream Bodies’s sonic wizardry, you should get excited to listen to the rest of their EP, too.
