GoldFinch is the musical moniker of Dunfermline singer-songwriter and recording artist, Stuart / Stoo Bell. The artist blends a nimble acoustic framework with classical rises to deliver a nostalgic sound. Bell has just put out his debut release, Fragile Things, a collection of three songs composed using moody tones and romantic themes. Describing the release, the artist says, “Fragile Things” is a melodic, delicate and ultimately hopeful exploration of themes related to vulnerability, recovery, and parenthood.” Taken from this EP, is Seven Strings in which GoldFinch uses warm and buoyant acoustics to address the delicate dynamics of the human heart. Listeners of Sufjan Stevens, Nick Drake, Kodaline and the like are sure to enjoy the therapeutic flows of this artist.
The track opens on the glinting wings of acoustic strings. Its texture is reinforced by Bell’s warm baritones. Tenderness is brought in by the sentimental violins and cellos melodies.
