Idle Moon is a British Columbia-based four-piece instrumental band. Their sonic range is as broad and intricate as the spectrum of human emotion. They make up for the lack of lyrics with detailed euphonic expressions, merging to form a thematic melody. The band has just released their debut album, Nomad which features their debut and sophomore singles, The Long Survival and Floating In Plastic. Taken from this album is the track, Blindly Running Towards the Ocean. With funk grooves and surreal synths, they craft a vintage listening experience.

Lush grooves open the song, forming a rhythmic motif, edged by tempo-congruent beats. Sliding up and down the tempo line, they carve out ruminative spaces that explore themes like whimsy and freedom. And with a simultaneous surge, they implement it into the exhilaration and liberation of the theme. It makes for a sublime listen as the smooth rolls of guitar melodies tap into mellow and enjoyable wavelengths. The retro fittings and crunchy pallets are redolent of Talking Heads and more contemporary artists like The Lovejoys and The Soul Prophets.

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
