Klawuta’s ‘Feeling Colors’ is an immersive, evocative, kaleidoscopic prog rock track that will have you feeling everything!

Multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Matthias Fröhlich came up with Klawuta as a way to channelize his years of musical experience into creating self-inspired, performed and recorded songs right from his own home studio.

‘Feeling Colors’ is his third release of the year so far. A sonic masterpiece for listeners of intelligent prog rock music similar to that of Tool, Nine Inch Nails and Porcupine Tree. The track opens with soulful piano notes that brilliantly transition into a stirring, driving rhythm section. Its a compelling melody, one that instigates emotion, creating an unsettling agitation.

The track’s lyrics speak to an alarming dysfunction of the mind that so many of us struggle with. Unable to focus on a singular task or thought, our mind jumps from being in fight or flight mode constantly. Ledwinka’s nonchalant, whimsical vocal delivery, paired with intriguing soaring melodies, draws the listener into a trance-like state.

Gathering momentum, the track flows with an assured, confident tempo. Then halfway in, it descends into a gripping, bass-heavy riff section, taking the intensity up to 11! Its a remarkable tempo switch that holds your attention firmly before calming down into the initial piano melody. We drop into the heavy rifffs once more, the vocals growing ever urgent as the track approaches it unsettling conclusion.

Unsettled—that’s exactly the mindset or way of being that this track takes aim at. Expressed artistically and pretty hilariously by Klawuta in the accompanying music video that shows him drifting off in thought to doing different things all the while remaining in the exact same place. Its said that the greatest war affecting our current generation is a war for our attention. With ever-shrinking spans of attention, this track is a sublimely sonic reflection on that sad state of affairs.
