Based out of Toledo, Ohio, Knock For Six is a post-hardcore band that’s out with their latest single, “Reaching”. A hard-core take on life, the song explores dark themes revolving around living the life that was intended and about how sometimes that’s not enough and it’s better to give it all up in death. The sinister and dark lyrics are accompanied by heavy-hitting guitar riffs and fast-paced drum beats. Knock For Six brings out the post-hardcore elements with their synth-based music that overlaps the powerful distortion of the guitar riffs. By doing so they create an atmosphere where the music finds its way through ups and downs. The track is melodious with crippling growls that emphasise the power of the track and occasion itself to its melodic counterparts. As the song starts, there’s a layer of synth that lays down the background on top of which we can hear the sharp tone of the lead guitar. As the smooth vocals come into play, the drums and the bass jump into action instantly covering the melody.

The growls don’t come to life until past the first chorus, and when it does, the true aggression of the song comes alive. The first breakdown catches you completely off guard and launches you back into the song. Soaring vocals pouring with emotion and rage take over as the song comes to a close with growls in the background.
