Professor Passarelli releases effervescent, uplifting acoustic pop ode to love ‘Million Ways’
Lauren Passarelli is a singer-songwriter, recording engineer, author, and inspiring professor of guitar at Berklee College of Music. As the opening salvo from her latest album, ‘Big Blue Machine’, Lauren brings a sweepingly pleasant, irresistible country folk sound.
‘Million Ways’ kicks off with some of the most soulful, evocative instrumentation you’ve ever heard. It shimmers with 70s soft rock influences from The Beatles, Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Wonder & George Harrison, to name a few. The section feels like receiving the first sunrays of spring after a cold, dark winter. It oozes positivity, grace, and warmth, evoking bright, fuzzy, feel-good emotions. What’s also beautiful about this track is the myriad range of instruments you can hear, all perfectly balanced and layered to create an orchestral immersive listening experience.
Leading the line are Lauren’s tender vocals and guitar work. She sings sincerely of her object of utmost affection, that someone who makes her life oh so wonderful and special, and she blesses and sends her thanks in a million ways. It’s the kind of words that you can’t help smiling and swaying along to. It reaffirms your faith in goodness. Lauren brings that kind of uplifting, inspiring energy through her sound. The infectiously sing-along choruses have us crooning along repeatedly, ‘Thank you in a million, million ways.’ They say love & gratitude are amongst the highest positive energies you can channelize, and that’s exactly what Lauren does here.
A standout aspect in ‘Million Ways’ must be Lauren’s intricate guitar work. Never feeling forced or overwhelming, its the glue that holds this whole composition together. Give this a listen and let us know how it resonates with you.
