The Italian electronic metal project, coming from the artist behind _SHOE, is gearing up towards the release of their debut album early next year.

‘Mind Control Techniques’ is the fourth immersive release they’ve put out this year. Each, more focused and intense than the last. Thrusting listeners down a sonic rabbit hole of conspiracies, exposing dark, hidden truths that have been kept under wraps for so long.

We open alarmingly with pulsating synths and subtle riffs, throwing you off balance, evoking a state of panic and confusion, just as they wanted you to feel. The tension is dialled up to 11, keeping you feeling edgy in anticipation. Adding to that is the presence of alarming vocal recordings that mention people who’ve been victims to dangerous, mind-altering experimentation at the hands of top-secret government projects.

With a growing ferocity and anger, the track gathers momentum, with each verse exposing another facet of ‘Mind Control Techniques’. All the while, the darkly fantastic synth melodies and distortion riffs keep the edginess. Concluding with no shortage of irony, with a lingering interview recording where the person is asked about the ethics of government-funded mind control programs.

Take it as you will, ‘Mind Control Techniques’ is saying things that we’ve been told to be shush about. Leather Laces are unabashedly peeling back the manufactured layers of misinformation and hypocrisy to reveal the dastardly acts we’ve performed on our own kind, just to play the power game.
