Without missing a beat, the track opens to him smoothly laying a rap to defiance. Of living trapped in that 9-5 job and instead, he’s choosing an escape for himself to live his dreams through music. They say necessity is the mother of invention. Well, years of working a dead-end 9-5 necessitated Patrick coming up with ‘9-2-5’.
The beat is minimal and simple; the tone is one of survival and looking good while at it. The lyrical flow, catchy and real, paints a visceral picture of his life, working overtime while dreaming/plotting a way out. He’s open about facing trauma and dealing with struggles that would make others crumble.
