Mad Painter has just come out with its second studio album, Splashed. The Boston-based band unlock a treasure chest of legends, myths and illusions, each one boasted with edgy and hyperactive rock arrangements. It features some of their recent releases like Illusion and Rock and Roll Samurai. Taken from this album is A Friend In France by Mad Painter. With a romantic temperament and dripping with nostalgia, listening to it is like sailing back in time. It is timeless in the simplest ways, with genial acoustics and melodic vocals.

The intricate piano arrangements spark and frolic across the soundscape while classical trumpet ensembles bloom in the background. And of course, the three pronged sound is completed by retro synths rising into the track like a soft breeze.

The track has a predominant 80s allure, cast under the filters of vintage sonic. Led by dancing piano acoustics and rhythmic beats, it swells with dreamy vocals. It has the candor and sincerity of a live performance or that of a hearty busker, singing about the good old days.

The track is available for streaming on all popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
