Los Angeles’ best underground alt rock and hard rock band, MAL is back with yet another release, Hero’s Gold. The three-piece band dive deep into melancholy as they paint a portrait of a tragic hero with tight grunge riffs, thick bass lines, and vocal blues. True to their modus operandi, the track is cholkful of rock influences bleeding into each other to form an absorbing mosaic of sonic. The track is the band’s third release of the year following “Come To Light” and “Besides”.

The band does progressive rock very well. They seemingly set ambitious targets and build great momentum to achieve it. The track opens with luminous shreds, riding on the wings of silver basslines. Kristopher Jung’s vocals, hollow with woe, stretch across the resonant riff backdrop. Its sparkling texture is absorbed into the emotional abyss of the vocals. The magnetic dimensions of Peter Hollywood’s bass blooms into the buoyant guitar atmosphere. And the forming psychedelic design is rhythmized for the listener by the insightful drum work of Brendan Reynolds. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
