Sway along to Mariele Gomez’s evocative, shimmering, piercing indie pop ballad, ‘Let It Fade’!

For anyone who’s ever been in a toxic relationship, this is a track that sublimely expresses what it really means to move on. Dealing with the hurt and temptation, but arriving instead at a peaceful acceptance.

The track opens with gentle, soulful vocals wafting in like a light breeze. The mood is vulnerable and reflective, reminiscing on how they used to be lovers, hoping he’s going to call her back again.

We expand into a spacious bridge section, atmospherically building to a crescendo before we emerge into a roaring chorus. ‘Gotta let it fade, even though it hurts this way’. It’s stirring and feels deeply personal. The lyrics explore what it means to let go and to deal with a broken heart but move forward with strength.

Musically, Gomez delivers a stellar, engaging indie pop sound that takes listeners through emotional roller rollercoasters. Its the process of painful catharsis that is often required. The AI-enhanced vocals take the emotionality to another level while always coming across as human and vulnerable, as is such. At close to 3:30, ‘Let it fade’ is excellently structured and composed, backed by strong, intimate production.
