Mark Winters’ style is carved out of retro pillars of pop and rock; Especially his latest single, Boundary Layer (Radio Remix). Incredibly feel-good and replete with nostalgic sensibilities, he invokes retro frameworks and styles with fondness and enthusiasm. The American singer-songwriter and guitarist further deepens the romance and nostalgia with spatial themes. His passion for music and his education in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering unite to give us a glimpse of The Beach Boys, melodic David Bowie, sometimes Elton John, and other times, John Mayer.
The artist first released Boundary Layer as a single in early 2022 to tease his sophomore album of the same name. This version was crafted with minimalistic acoustics and molten guitar tangents. The production on it was simple and straightforward for the most part. However with the Radio Remix, the artist emphatically synches riffs around smooth falsettos. Its soundscape is made more active with vibrant and luminescent features and a definite line of percussion. It is thoroughly enjoyable to fly beyond the boundaries with Mark’s floating ruminations and warm melodies.
The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
