Awaken the spirit with Martin Kuiper’s electrifying new rock single, ‘Ego’!

Post the successful release of his psychedelic EP ‘Dreaming Of A Sea Of Time’ earlier this year, Martin is back with a renewed vigor!

‘Ego’ is the first single from his upcoming rock-centric album, ‘Prison Of Modesty,’ out June 2026.

The track opens without a moment’s waste onto stirring, upbeat rock arrangements. Distortion-laden riffs blare over a groovy bassline and crashing drums, setting up nicely for the opening verse.

His honest, bare-it all vocals sing about the limiting effects of living a life controlled by your ego. In his own words, ‘It’s a song about how your Ego can keep you small. Being narrow-minded in life comes from an Ego that is too big. It happens to me too sometimes’, Kuiper says with a wink.

The dynamic yet stripped-down arrangements and catchy melodies harken back to the golden era of punk rock, expressing emotions with genuine vulnerability and carefree abandon.

We learn that Martin wrote this song just after the birth of his first child, which sparked an urgent need for self-reflection. Throughout the track, Martin vocalizes his personal experiences with simple life lessons, almost as if to pass on crucial knowledge through his rock sound to future generations.

‘Ego’ is a thoroughly entertaining rock song that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Its one that would sound incredible played loud and live with cinematic chorus lines that invite you to sing along, ‘I feel love is all around me….don’t keep waiting for love…’

Underneath the rocking swagger is a sensitive yet confident perspective that yearns to share with everyone. Check out the accompanying music video that proudly shows us moments from Martin’s past and present journey! It’s heartening to see an artist’s life journey through their own eyes and how it pairs so beautifully with this song.
