The word of the day is ‘Ga’! So preaches the fearless, eclectic rapper MC Ultra in his latest single!
It’s almost never happened that we listen to a track and go, ‘WTF?!, am I being trolled?’ That’s happened now!
This is an 80 second trap/rap track that pretty much consists of a singular bass beat and MC Ultra’s hilariously diverse vocals reps of ‘GA’! It does feel like a straight-up rap parody with the way it’s set up, but we can’t really be sure of what MC Ultra is trying to convey here. All we know is ‘Ga’!
What’s abundantly clear is that this is an artist who’s expressing himself with a wild, unrestrained energy. He seems to be fully invested in playing the part of a gangster rapper but does so with a likeable, free-spirited vibe!
That comes across crystal clear in the accompanying music video for ‘Ga’. It features Ultra whimsically driving around in a Lambo (because of course!), in the studio and eventually in the club as he navigates through a stream of Ga’s. It feels like a vocal training exercise, in a way. Ever the one to keep it fresh, he happily modulates his pitch and tone wildly and even starts to make sounds that begin to deviate from anything you’d ever hear from a human and move almost into animal sounds.
Again, it speaks volumes to his fearless, maverick nature to break the mold and try something so crazily different from anything else out there. Sure, this may receive some trolling, but we sense that MC Ultra has it all in control. We especially loved how in the end, he’s got a crowd of people repeating ‘Ga’ as well! No doubt, his Ga-me is infectious!
Who knows what to expect next from MC Ultra? We shall Ga-ve to wait and see!
