Dive into this spicy, scintillating prog rock opus by Omnesia, ‘Dangle’!
Omnesia, is the eclectic Oakland-based duo of vocalist Medella Kingston & guitarist/producer, M2.
They deliver an epic, cinematic sonic gem, ‘Dangle’ that grips you into hypnotizing vice, dominates, seduces, and spins you around in heavy distortion-laden grooves, bluesy hard rock leads & rhythms, sultry basslines, and evocative, teasing vocals.
Think Led Zeppelin meets Sepultura with a dash of The Doors! That’s the kind of epic-ness we’re talking about here! This is a gem of a find and one that you will rock out to aplenty. Heed our words.
We open in devastatingly compelling fashion. Siren riffs & spacey organ tones trail into an earth-shatteringly heavy breakdown, one of the best we’ve heard in a long, long time!
The opening verse, sung with wit and panache, wax poetic and whimsical about seductively drawing you out of your weary, overworked life and into her wild, ecstatic one.
Speaking on the lyrics, Omnesia explains:
“If you listen to the lyrics, definitely a sex song, because a woman is exercising her power and control over a man’s dangling sexuality. The duality of likes like “I’m on top when I’m underneath you”.
The track flows at a stirring, sweeping tempo, fired by those delicious rhythmic riffs and jazzed up by those Santana-esque guitar wails.
Around halfway in, the track swerves brilliantly, taking you through a reflective refrain. The following guitar solo can only best be described as intensely orgasmic, inducing sheer pleasure and euphoria.
‘Dangle’ exudes the kind of irresistible charm and confidence that’s been long since missed in today’s music. It’s sublimely written, recorded, produed in a way that it feels like an amalgamation of the best of what rock, prog, metal, pop, and disco are about.
The accompanying music video is just as sublime. A psychedelic work of art that suitably captures the wild, unbridled sexual force that’s erupting here.
We’re absolutely thrilled by what we’ve rocked out to with Omnesia. A stirring reminder that rock is far from dead, in fact, its evolving into something special with tracks like this.
