Groove along to Phil’s upbeat, heartfelt indie-pop rock track, “Mind at Ease”!

Vienna-based pianist and songwriter Phil Woloch released his debut single earlier this year. The track favors a breezy yet intricate retro rock sound, reminiscent of the sounds of Billy Joel & Eric Clapton.

Listening to this takes you back to that golden era of pop rock music, when everything felt that little more wholesome & heartfelt. It’s the kind of track you’d want to start your day with, pick up your spirits on your morning run, or on your drive to work.

“Mind at Ease” opens on the front foot with strong driving rhythms and percussion, expressive piano tones and Phil’s playful, sincere vocals.

He croons with an infectious, charming energy:

“Mama, I could be an astronaut
It’s so much more than anyone had thought
Just cause I can’t convince myself,
Doesn’t mean I can’t convince someone else”

The lyrics are a playful jab at the precarious relationships we have in our lives and dealing with the expectations that arise from each of them. Mother, Father & Girlfriend each seem to have a certain idea of how you should lead your life, and you may find yourself stuck in the middle, trying to navigate your own rebellions and ambitions as you transition towards adulthood.

Through the chorus, we’re led into an evocative arrangement with the vocals, playful warm and sincere.

“Tell me everything you got
Can’t you tell me won’t you please
Put my mind at ease”

With this release, Phil makes a strong statement as an up-and-coming indie pop-rock group. We look forward to hearing a lot more from this eclectic, talented group that is keeping the timeless rock sound of the 70s well alive and kicking!
