New Alt Rockers Rivermind release dreamy, cinematic track, ‘Nightlight’!

Think Muse meets Twenty One Pilots! Rivermind’s sublime blend of dreamy guitar tones, patient rhythms and dream pop harmonies amidst spacious atmospherics will make you sit up and take notice. There’s something sonically, magnetically resonant about their newest release, ‘Nightlight’.

Forged in the fires of years of performing in basement jams and underground shows, the Switzerland-based alt-rock four-piece outfit, Rivermind, presents a confident, modern take, narrowing into their brave, signature sound.

‘Nightlight’ opens onto sharp guitar tones and disorienting percussions and groovy distorted bass lines. Punchy vocals sing expressively, a hazy rememberance. Steadily, the arrangement shifts into a catchy, cinematic section, the vocals drawing you into their bliss.

Over its 4 min runtime, ‘Nightlight’ plays out at a beautifully restrained yet expressive pace and tempo. The group plays with a laidback, refreshing cohesion. And brave to explore new sonic realms too. There are some delightfully airy blues guitar sections that lull you into a relaxed, weightless state.

What stands out about Rivermind here is sheer vision and emotion. Speaking on the meaning behind ‘Nightlight’, they share, “With ‘Nightlight,’ we wanted to create a feeling of longing and direction. It is that light in the distance—something you can see, something that pulls you in, but never quite lets itself be fully reached. For us, that tension is where the emotional power of the song lives.’

For listeners of intelligent, alt-rock music, this is a group to watch out for! With an EP release slotted for later in the year, there’s a lot more to look forward to from Rivermind.
