Rosetta West are back with a scorching, hypnotic blues rock masterpiece, ‘Boneyard Blues’!
This is the first blistering track of their latest full-length album, ‘God Of The Dead’, a sonic psychedelic maze of songs to traverse through. But you’d have to get through the ‘Boneyard Blues’ first!
Veterans of their craft, Rosetta West are such a compelling, fascinating study. Their sound can be loosely imagined as a mega mashup between Tenacious D x AC/DC x The Doors. It’s a wickedly surreal, primal yet oh-so-infectious classic rock sound, and it’s everything we love about this group
‘Boneyard Blues’ opens with these tasty, thrilling riffs from frontman Joseph Demagore followed by his own raspy, passionate vocals. It sets the tone for an immersive, edge-of-your-seat kind of listening experience. The group pull out all the stops over the course of this track’s nearly 5-minute runtime. It’s got everything from thundering verses to an absolutely ecstatic, hysterical sliding guitar solo. Brilliantly composed and arranged, this is truly a masterclass in blues rock production. Even the last minute of the track is straight up bonkers, with wild guitars, thundering drums, and a sort of brilliantly controlled chaos that you’d only get from a group this good.
Rosetta West brings a sort of unrelenting, maddening energy to this opus that makes you wonder just how far they can go. And make no mistake, they have loads left in the tank. This is not a track for the faint-hearted. It’s a power-packed blues-rock piece that will, pardon the pun, rock you like a hurricane!
