Embark on a brilliant, prog rock experience with Rupert Träxler’s, ‘The Journey’!
Austrian guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Rupert Träxler combines technical skill with emotional depth. After years in various bands, he’s now realizing his own artistic vision as a solo artist.
His latest release, ‘The Journey’ is an intriguing, nuanced piece of music that exudes emotion, curiosity, and innovation in droves. We open onto tranquil guitar notes and Rupert, emotive, Steven Wilson-esque vocals. In fact, listeners of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson will hear many similarities in Rupert’s brilliant songwriting and composition style.
The first half of the track is calm and poetic right up 1: 10 mark, with his echoing vocals singing, ‘Its not an escape, bit a journey within.” A momentary pause transitions into scintillating prog rock arrangements, a sonic tunnel of sorts that elevates the opus to a whole other level. Crashing layers of sound, distortion, and drums upon which Rupert’s layered vocals glide the track towards a sublime finale with the last words, ‘A Journey Within.’
We can’t imagine a more fitting sonic metaphor for the experience or realization of what it really means to take a journey within. ‘The Journey’ perfectly encapsulates that place of indescribable calmness and reflection, a place that indeed resides within each one of us. This is the ideal track suited to your creative/flow state-inducing practices, long drives and moments of deep contemplation.
Rupert has delivered a track that truly transcends labels and instead offers listeners an expertly crafted medium to reconnect with the self. We couldn’t be more grateful for the experience of having listened to this.
