Steven Sabet and Brian Doherty are NYC-based singer-songwriters and stellar artists. Formed in 2020, the blues rock duo blend spontaneity with vigor to serve up distinctive blends. Sabet and Doherty have just released their sophomore EP, The Secret. Speaking to its style and vibe, the artists explain that “The EP, sometimes harbors the mood of 80’s New Wave while showcasing their skills as songwriters, producers, and musicians that deliver lean earworms.”

The title track opens the album. Electric riffs set a definite and edgy rhythm, vibrating with energy. Superimposed with guitar tangents and synth floors, the soundscape is seamlessly produced to create a perfect sonic unity. Fuzzy baritones are excellent navigators, headlining the emotional faculty of the track.

The pair bring their individuality and matchless expertise to the Sabet and Doherty project. Prior to the pairing, Doherty was known for his drumming with They Might Be Giants, Freedy Johnston, and Ben Folds, among others. Sabet played guitar in bands Darby Jones and MORE and is now a concert-master in the NJ Guitar Orchestra. By day, the duo are music educators who hail from New Jersey – Doherty from Randolph and Sabet from Montville.

The track is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
