Soulganic is out with their new single “Bear That Weight”, a mesmerizing blend of old-school soul music with the extravagance of jazz. An independent funky indie soul trio based out of Charlotte, USA, Soulganic is highly regarded for its exemplary technical prowess. Moreover, they are known for their unique blend of soul, jazz and funk music. Led by the beautiful guitars played by Ryan McKeithan accompanied with the mellow drum beats by drummer/keyboardist Cory McClure, Soulganic creates a gentle atmosphere. And onto this canvas, the vocals pour like honey, dense and elegant, leading the melody to a place of grace. Flowing with the vocal melody, the instrumentation features colourful chords and voicings elevating the experience of the listener. The jazzy chords played on the guitar, divert the melody at each juncture and the visceral solos that feature now and then bring about that vintage retro feel. The song slowly builds up, incorporating different elements, and layers the song to enrich the soundscape without losing its minimalistic touch.

The lyrics of the song push you to find your happiness and to not lose heart in solitude. The second part of the song completely transforms into a lively track that brings in the groove. Hues of R&B can be heard in this soulful song. The production of the music has hugely complemented the minimalistic approach and has brought about an organic sound. “Bear That Weight” is a song that will completely pull you in. Each note and chord seem to be curated to sound filling in your ears and the band has masterfully created a melodic gem in the process.
