Strap in for a scorching, exciting, explosive nu metal opus from Staticfall, “Matriarch”.

Newcomers Staticfall deliver a commanding performance built upon deliciously heavy riff breakdowns, soaring vocals, gripping harmonies and genre-fusing (metal, rap & electronic) arrangements. Think of Amy Lee’s commanding vocal delivery in ‘Going Under’ paired with Linkin Park’s iconic, ‘One Step Closer’.

From the get-go, we’re led into a tension-packed opening verse. With a deep breath, gripping vocals paint a spine-chilling, apocalyptic scene, ‘from the wreckage of his past’ emerges a demonic matriarchal shadow, primed to wreak anarchy and destruction wherever she deems.

This is a track that blows you away with the sheer power of the combined metal and rap vocals. Soaring female vocals hit you like a freight train while the supporting male vocals complement brilliantly with thunderous growls and shouts. Halfway in, we switch gears into excellent, Mike Shinoda-like, hard hitting rap verses. In fact, you’d be quite inclined to be reminded of Linkin Park & Evernescene’s era-defining power tracks.

The female vocals are one of the standout aspects of ‘Matriarch’. She sings with absolute power and control, unleashing a ruthless sonic storm upon listeners every time she sings. We also love the use of rapid bursts of metal riffs and pounding basslines. The crescendoing conclusion section loops into the chorus one final time, trailing off into a jagged, rock-electronic outro.

The track’s high emotional intensity quotient taps into the collective pain and suffering women have endured for centuries at the hands of men. The prescence of ‘Matriarchal’ figure represents the dire possibility of a mass-scale gender war, where the tables are violently turned upon mankind. Now, an oppressive matriarchal power figure rules the land, ruthlessly eliminating her oppressors.

This is a track built upon power, rage and control. Perfect for pure moments of hypnotizing headbanging and scintillating catharsis,
