TAKE THE REINS is an alt punk rock outfit from Chicago. Fronted by vocalist Courtney Boyers, the band delivers eclectic flavors of punk accentuated by pop and rock n roll elements that is reminiscent of a mix between Joan Jett and The Pretenders. The band has just released their latest album, “I’m At Your Door”. The seven song album pays homage to the 80s rock n roll style by blending hard hitting punk and glam rock with new wave and post-punk accents. Taken from this album is the song, Last Stop Motel, in which TAKE THE REINS propel the listener to a high energy and potent punk circuit.
The track combines vibrant riffs and flighty beats with booming bass lines and an incredibly passionate vocal delivery. And the resultant machination is a tremendous force that you get hooked on. Electric shreds, melodic vocal harmonies, and underlying punch beats are used to continuously transform the road to a soaring climax.
The rest of the band is Dan Duffy, Dave Burke, Erik Hilger, and Matt Benson. All of them were active members of punk rock bands throughout the 90s and early 2000s before joining Courtney to form TAKE THE REINS.
