Italian rockers The Crystal Bullets release a searing, heart-wrenching rock single, ‘Heart Of A Whore’.

Prepare to enter a desolate, dark world where love has been destroyed and what remains is only numbness. The title of the track refers to developing a kind of coldness and indifference towards everything and everyone. A shutting out of all warm, positive emotions and in their place, cultivating darkness and hate. The Crystal Bullets channelize these emotions (or lack of!) into a fiery hard rock performance. It reminds one of Evanescence, with its strong commanding female vocals and thundering rock, metal, instrumentation. It’s an irresistibly evocative hard rock experience. Catharsis loaded in every blazing riff.

‘Heart Of A Whore’ opens with soft, evocative piano melodies, reminding one of how it feels to be heartbroken and alone. Twangy guitar notes and ethereal keys play as the lead vocalist sings, her voice dripping with hurt and defiance. She conveys an honest message of survival, by any means possible, to get through this brokenhearted phase. Joining her are the rest of the instrumentation—fiery guitar riffs and crashing drums, haunting keys. The track gathers momentum and moves at the confident tempo, taking brief refrains to allow for composition to develop.

A standout aspect is a little before the two-minute mark, as the vocalist ends her verse with ‘I wanna have a heart of a whore…., the instrumentation takes over, riding at full tilt, led by brilliant guitars. The vocals join back in, offering short lines; the interplay between the soft vocals and thundering guitars is ground-shaking and mesmerizing to witness. Akin to watching an approaching thunderstorm, it evokes awe, wonder, and fear. The track concludes brilliantly, the instrumentation fading out elegantly and the title lyrics being softly sung into the darkness.

‘The Crystal Bullets – Heart Of A Whore’ is a revenge rock track to work through deep grief and despair. To move ruthlessly forward with courage & strength, despite the consequences.
