The Golden Blades creates music in the space between reality and progressive realities. The Austrian indie pop rock band have their hands in many cookie jars so to speak. Pulling all the flavors, ideas, concepts and styles into a phasing soundscape, they achieve an overactive sonic experience. It is dynamic, new, refreshing, and futuristic. Blurring generic fidelities, they seem to pull in a sonic electricity that is expansive. So, their latest release, ‘Augmented Reality’ is right on theme. It is topical in that it inspires the best of the band, and rides into their aesthetics. 

The track is immediately electric, starting at the first verse. A concert of synthwave styles, synth pop, and bolstering rock rides it into the chorus. Shadow genres like disco, funk, and dance pop play out in the background, filling in the scenes. The electronica has that retro futurism. The chorus is a technicolor shimmer, a light dance almost that forms around the effervescing vocal emotion. A pop anthem at the peak of it, it peels back into the stringy rock frames of the verses. Listeners of Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and Tame Impala are sure to enjoy the alternative sphere of this band.
