The Lovedogs are an electric alt rock band with a stylistic range that is astounding. They match 70s psychedelics with rock n roll grooves, and an indie rock vocal fuzz. There is so much rebellion in the way they make music, and yet they find a harmony that strikes a chord. As soon as you enter their soundscape, you feel elevated and you know that you’re going to be transported. It’s the same with their latest release, ‘Shut Me Up!’, a track in which the assimilation is instant. With the first frame you know you’re going to have a good time, you know that it’s going to be worth your while.

There is a deliberate retro profile to the song. It is reminiscent of the patterns of old timey TV static. The riffs are coarse and the basslines fill it all up. And with driving grooves and an eccentric melody line, the instrumentals shine like the sun. There are a lot of bright and luminous points. There just seems to be a defiance in the way the song is built that loops into the thematic challenge. And the vocals are kept mellow, smooth and expansive to sort of encompass and reconcile the many layers, the multiple sensibilities, and creative outlets within the track. Listen Now!

The track is available for streaming on popular sites like Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music!
