The New Citizen Kane releases an evocative, alt-pop, electronic opus, ‘I Don’t Need To Say – Radio Edit’
Kane Luke, aka The New Citizen Kane has been pushing the limits with his unique, cinematic blend of alt-pop and electronic sounds combined with heart-tugging vocals and lyrics.
His latest, ‘I Don’t Need To Say – Radio Edit’ is part futuristic, cinematic soundscape and part poetic, fluid dance track. Its this combination that makes listening to this such a refreshing experience.
We open onto intriguing, soft beats riding on an expansive, atmospheric backdrop. This leads into pulsating beats and the opening lines, Kane singing passionately, ‘Lost in your eyes, I could look at you forever…’
The track expands with cool confidence, flowing at a quick tempo, never losing a moment of momentum. Lyrically, its a reflection on a more mature, complete kind of connection that in his own words, ‘nothing’s ever felt more natural’. It captures that effortless kind of love where, as the title suggests, you don’t really need to vocalize each everything. Instead, its unspoken, instinctive and intuitive and flows as freely as Kane’s creative energies at this moment.
As Kane describes it, it is about true partnership, the moment “where love doesn’t need big declarations, because every look, every touch already says it all.”
Musically, it sounds like the soundtrack to a futuristic, sci-fi love story. Especially, post the two minute mark, where the track branches out into an immersive soundscape, taking listeners through a fascinating listen, electronic sounds blend into field recordings that then flow into an inquisitive synth section.
The final circle of vocals, artistically enhanced and layered, gives the conclusion a timeless feel. It evokes a gentle, rising euphoria before fading into echoes.
We love what we’ve heard from this supremely talented, eclectic artist who boldly declares himself The New Citizen Kane. Check out his latest album, ‘The Tales of Morpheus’ next!
