The Vigilante’s debut release, “Tell Me” is a darkly brilliant, reflective, alt synth-rock track.

It starts with a deeply immersive synthscape and intriguing tones and textures that seem to hypnotize. A thumping bassline and beat join in before The Vigilante glides into the opening verse with a soft, brooding depth.

‘The test of mankind Is when there’s nowhere to go You put it to the test What’s this life for?’ He sings with a stripped-down, authentic philosophical attunement you’d come to expect from David Bowie or Nine Inch Nails.

The Vigilante confesses, “This song is about the weight we all carry. From ICE raids tearing families apart, to women being told what they can or can’t do with their own bodies, to people still being judged for who they love — it’s all connected. We’re watching rights being stripped away while power hides behind a smile. Tell Me is me screaming back into the noise.”

The accompanying Depeche Mode-esque dynamic industrial synth feels like the perfect medium upon which his rallying cry for awakening is amplified upon. From steady and minimal through the verses & dynamic and expressive in the choruses, the soundscape, produced by Alex Koch is phenomenal.

‘Tell Me’ is a track that hits deep, true. For all of us who have long since felt that our species has lost its way and needs to stop, take a collective breath and reflect on the irreparable damage and destruction that is becoming the norm. The track hits that sweet spot between lament, deep conversational questions and rallying revolutionary statements.

The accompanying music video is a tasteful, artistic performance that features The Vigilante in all black leathers, depicted behind bars as he soulfully conveys his most urgent message.

This is music with a beating heart and soul. It’s the kind that is not afraid to ask the real questions and is inspiring against control, oppression, and inner demons. Fans of Dark synth, industrial, and cinematic rock vibes will absolutely love this.
