TOSPACEWEGO releases genre-fusing ode to heartbreak, lament & insanity, ‘Lives I’ve Wasted Willingly’

This is quite unlike any track you’ve ever heard. It fuses jazz, indie rock, and electronica quite incredibly. But what stands out is just how the track expresses heartbreak through such a compelling, poetic manner.

From its very notes, the melody it captivates with its effortlessly jazzy cool. Sadness tinged harmonies float on steady, marching beats. The vocals enter, oozing with longing and sadness. The lyrics themselves are stunningly poetic.

Opening lines like “Lives I’ve wasted willingly / getting you to notice me” land deep and true and is something universally relatable in failed matters of the heart. Each word, delivered with the kinda of detachedness, conveys the extent of sorrow that comes from looking through the past.

Musically, TOSPACEWEGO takes the track of another level of instrumentation. They keep the tempo so well, sticking to an unhurried pace but using the transtion really well with filler sections featuring riffs, subtle chiming effects and airy synths. Halfway in, we are treated to a soulful saxophone solo that cuts through the haze like a beam of gold light, followed by an 80s-inspired guitar solo that elevates the track to epic cinematic heights.

The final verse returns with the same lamenting intensity, feeling lived-in. The track concludes stylishly, with the vocals extending that last word and snare flourish.

This is a track to re-live several time to truly appreciate just how good it sounds. TOSPACEWEGO doesn’t just tell a story—they let you live in it.
