Step aside, land-bound creatures, the first echinoderm in Bristol’s electronic scene, Tuxedo Dave is here with ‘Ground’!
Drawing inspiration from aquatic sources like puddles and pools, and playing upon waterproof, corrosion-resistant synthesizers, pressure-sensitive controllers, and sealed effects units adapted for his physiology, Dave is making waves with his latest release, ‘Ground’.
The irony is the track title aside, ‘Ground’ is an intriguing if not slightly unsettling composition. Rich in texture, depth and peircing tone, it hypnotises you like nothng else. With slowly expanding melodies, you feel a sense of deepening as you listen to this. As if you’re very slowly descending to the bottom of the ocean.
The track has this magnitizing, hynotizing effect right from its first notes and it has hold of you all throguh its 2 min runtime. Its alien, yet contains a trace of something familiar. The synths sound like something from a Hans Zimmer compostion for ‘Dune’ piercing and overwhelming.
Listen to ‘Ground’ in moments of stillness and calm to experience something transcendental. A feeling of melting into the elements, of merging with them.
The fact that this compositon was created by a sea creature is frankly mind-boggling and begs the question, what’s next? A fascinating debut track from Tuxedo Dave! We’re keenly looking forward to the next release from Britain’s (and the world!) echinoderm electronic producer.
